Matters not covered shall follow Illinois Nonprofit Law. \nArticle 15: Effective DateEffective upon approval at the Member Assembly on March 1\, 2025. \n\nHonorary President System\nPurpose:\n\n\nRecognition: Acknowledge outstanding contributions of past presidents. \n\n\nInspiration: Encourage past presidents to stay engaged. \n\n\nConnection: Leverage influence to improve external cooperation. \n\n\nEligibility:\n\n\nMust have served at least one full term as president and contributed significantly. \n\n\nReputable with no misconduct. \n\n\nContinues supporting the community after stepping down. \n\n\nMust be a registered member. \n\n\nAppointment & Dismissal:\n\n\nNominated by the board\, president\, or 10+ members. \n\n\nAppointed with majority board approval. \n\n\nCan be removed for serious misconduct or criminal acts with majority board vote. \n\n\nTerm & Renewal:\n\n\nTerm aligns with the board’s term and is renewable. \n\n\nBefore board turnover\, renewal recommendations must be submitted for new board approval. \n\n\nRights & Duties:\n\n\nMay represent CAACI if authorized. \n\n\nCan advise but has no decision-making power. \n\n\nProfile on the website\, allowed to print cards. \n\n\nMust uphold rules\, promote unity\, and assist in public affairs. \n\n\n\nSenior Advisor System\nPurpose:\n\n\nResource Integration: Leverage elite expertise and connections. \n\n\nProfessional Empowerment: Use experience to improve execution. \n\n\nCommunity Collaboration: Build bridges across fields and cultures. \n\n\nEligibility:\n\n\nMust meet at least one: \n\n\nPublic influence in politics\, business\, academia\, or philanthropy. \n\n\nProfessional achievements in fields like education\, law\, culture\, etc. \n\n\nProvided major contributions to CAACI or Chinese communities. \n\n\n\n\nNo membership required. \n\n\nGood reputation\, no misconduct. \n\n\nAppointment:\n\n\nNominated by board\, president\, or 10+ members with resume and impact note. \n\n\nBoard reviews alignment with mission. \n\n\nAppointment with majority vote\, followed by public announcement. \n\n\nResponsibilities & Rights:\n\n\nOffer advice on planning and key projects. \n\n\nHelp connect to resources (sponsors\, media\, etc.). \n\n\nAttend at least one CAACI event annually. \n\n\nMay attend relevant meetings and use the “Senior Advisor” title publicly. \n\n\nReceive priority access to reports and updates. \n\n\nTerm & Removal:\n\n\nTerm matches the board’s and is renewable. \n\n\nNon-renewal results in automatic exit. \n\n\nMay be dismissed early for misconduct by majority board vote. \n\n\nFinal Clauses:\n\n\nEffective upon member assembly approval. \n\n\nHonorary\, unpaid role with no operational responsibility. \n\n\nBoard retains interpretation and revision rights. \n\n\n\nHonorary Member System\nPurpose:\n\n\nRecognition: Acknowledge non-members with significant contributions. \n\n\nEncouragement: Motivate community involvement. \n\n\nVisibility: Expand CAACI’s public profile and resources via networks. \n\n\nEligibility:\n\n\nMust not be a registered member. \n\n\nMust meet at least one: \n\n\nProvided major financial\, material\, or resource support. \n\n\nAdvocated for the Chinese community’s rights or image. \n\n\nLong-term volunteer service with strong results. \n\n\n\n\nGood standing with no misconduct. \n\n\nNomination & Appointment:\n\n\nNominated by board\, president\, or 10+ members with contribution details. \n\n\nBoard evaluates impact and approves with a majority vote. \n\n\nRights & Benefits:\n\n\nExempt from membership fees. \n\n\nMay attend exclusive events. \n\n\nReceive publications\, notifications\, and facility use (per regulations). \n\n\nListed on the website and in public docs. \n\n\nMay use the title publicly with permission. \n\n\nLimitations:\n\n\nNo voting or election rights. \n\n\nCannot intervene in internal governance. \n\n\nTerm & Removal:\n\n\nTerm aligned with the board.
